“We are so excited to be able to open our taproom to the public. Being able to connect directly and share our beer with our fans and friends is going to be such a treat,” said 3 Sheeps Brewing Co. Founder & Brewmaster Grant Pauly. “The 3 Sheeps crew, in proper brewer fashion, plans to commemorate this milestone with a full taproom and lots of fun and unique brews!”
The new 10,000 square foot barrel warehouse and taproom is located in one of two buildings of the former Coca-Cola Distribution Plant that has been refurbished into a destination for communal enjoyment of beer. Craft beer enthusiasts will enjoy sipping brews with the knowledgeable bar staff at the hand-poured concrete bar, sitting amongst fellow beer fans at long picnic style wood tables and lounging on sofas while playing board games. The taproom has two dedicated spaces suited for private social or corporate meetings and events.
The 3 Sheeps Brewing Co. Taproom’s 16 tap lines will feature signature and seasonal favorites alongside a varying line-up of experimental brews. The brewery has also installed one cask-conditioned Firkin tap line to showcase traditional English Style beers along with experimental one-off flavors. Craft beer enthusiasts will enjoy the rotation of limited release, experimental, small batch and prototype beers. Beer flights will be available in logoed taster glasses served in brewer-made flight boards designed from barrel staves. Customers have the option to purchase beer for carry out in growlers and bottles.
The overall taproom design mimics the style of many west-coast taprooms with its open-concept layout, expansive floor plan and industrial feel from floor to ceiling. A notable design aspect of the warehouse-style taproom is the incorporation of historic bleachers from Sheboygan’s landmark – The Armory. The expansive wood planks, still marked with seat numbers, were used to make the picnic table-style communal tables, railings and partitions. The spacious taproom doubly acts as a warehouse for the brewery’s expanding barrel aging program and sour beer production – a new focus for the brewery.
3 Sheeps Brewing Co. merchandise and souvenirs will be available for purchase from the Sheep Shop located within the taproom. Additional items are also available online at www.3SheepsBrewing.com.
Renovation of the two-building property began in December 2015. The larger building will become a functioning brew house this summer with state-of-the-art equipment, packaging and company offices. As the weather warms, the brewery will open the expansive overhead doors of the taproom to a beer garden set alongside sweeping willows and functioning train tracks.
