Vol. 3 We always love brewing a beer that's never been attempted before...but despite how crazy a certain ingredient may sound, it will always serve a purpose! This is certainly the case with this IPA brewed with real squid ink. Grant wanted to make a black IPA without using roasted malts, which tend to diminish the hoppiness of a brew. Squid ink, we found, darkens the beer and actually enhances the hop profile, along with contributing a slight briny character. Around this, we brewed a nice earthy IPA to complement this unique addition.
