Fall is upon us! While we may not enjoy the weather getting colder, we love hop picking season. This year, we had the opportunity to head out to The Hop Garden, pick our own Cascade hops, and brew with them that day. We wanted to give everyone a chance to see what these fresh hops were really about. To do so, we decided to use the same malt bill as our fall seasonal, Autumnal Hoppiness, and replaced all of the late addition hops with fresh-picked Cascade hops. The fresh cascade hops produce a fruitiness not replicable in pellet form. This flavor balances nicely against the woodly, caramel, and raisin undertones of the malt.
While this beer is great alone, we recommend pairing it with Autumnal Hoppiness to see exactly what the difference is between pellet hops and fresh hops.
